Doctors suffer abnormally high levels of alcoholism, drug dependence, marital breakdown, mental illness & suicide. This paper looks at the attitudes & behaviour in seeking health care of all the general practitioners in 1 family practitioner committee area. Results show that this group of doctors finds difficulty in receiving help from other doctors, particularly for conditions to which doctors are vulnerable. Some reasons for this are discussed & some strategies for improvement are suggested.
