Describes action research employed in the development of a suicide-prevention program which prepared education staff to become gatekeepers. Intervention strategies & programs were based on results of a survey. A quasi-experimental design was used for workshop evaluation. The 3 studies presented demonstrate collaboration between practitioner & researcher in a recurring cycle of research, program development & program evaluation, aimed at addressing the problem of adolescent suicide prevention.
