This letter to the editor describes the increase of poisoning by Thevetica Nerifolia (Pila Kaner) in a hospital in India. Pila Kaner is widely cultivated as an ornamental shrub in India, & has been used for suicide, homicide, & to induce abortions. The effects, the poison contained in the seeds, & studies on Pila Kaner’s effect in the management of congestive heart failure is briefly discussed. (VM)
