This article discusses the barriers to instituting school suicide prevention programs. The author outlines many parents & school administrators’ fears about prevention programs (e.g. that talking about suicide will increase suicidal behavior), including arguments to support & contradict each concern. He asserts that hesitant school administrators & suicide prevention specialists must respect each others beliefs, & proceed carefully. (VM)
