This article describes the life of Sigmund Freud (1865-1939), including his childhood, university, career & family history. In 1923, Freud was diagnosed as having cancer of the palate. He had numerous operations before he asked his physician to lethally inject him with morphine. The author asserts Freud showed no indications of any psychiatric illness, & that Freud’s suicide was a rational act by rational man. (VM)
