This letter is a response to an article by M.H. Teicher et al which linked intense suicidal ideation and fluoxetine treatment. The author writes that he has used fluoxetine on 100 patients over the past two years, and has had excellent results. He criticizes Teicher for studying patients who were severely ill, and had histories of suicidal ideation. He also asserts that the dose Teicher applied was too high. (VM)
