This study examines the hemispheric distribution of serotonin (5-HT) uptake sited in postmortem brain from 8 controls & 8 depressed suicides, using the nontricyclic 5-HT uptake inhibitor, 3H-paroxetine. The authors find there is no marked hemispheric asymmetry of 5-HT uptake sited in postmortem tissue from controls or depressed suicides. They speculate on the reasons for this, & for other related research findings on/3H-imipramine. (VM)
