Asserts that the number of suicide victims among children aged 5-14, though small, may be growing. Many suicidal children come from families in stressful situations, often involving a death, separation, or divorce. The family patterns of interaction are often unhealthy & do not promote growth. Suicidal children often have poor social skills, problems in school, are depressed, feel hopeless, & are sometimes angry & impulsive. (62 refs.) (VM)
