Non-Organic Psychiatric and Psychosocial Syndromes Associated With HIV-1 Infection and Disease

Reviews evidence of nonorganic psychiatric disturbance without evidence of cognitive impairment in people with HIV-1 infection & disease; the appearance of HIV-1 infection & disease in people with premorbid psychiatric histories & the appeareance of psychiatric disorders in non-HIV infected people who consider themselves at risk of HIV infection. The issue of suicidal activity & planning in people at high risk of HIV infection or disease is addressed. Various management issues are discussed.
