Acute poisoning occurs very frequently during childhood & adolescence. Fortunately most of the children are not at great risk as they usually don’t take an overdose. In a number of cases there probably was no contact at all with the toxic product. The present retrospective review describes the epidemiology of a pediatric population with accidental & suicidal poisoning during an almost 8 year period. (3 refs.)
