An analysis of 72 Indian Health Service medical records of suicide attempts & completions over a 1-year period on a Sioux Indian reservation was done using a 41-item protocol. Medical records provide significant data to develop attempter profiles, identify high-risk groups, determine high-risk days & months, & identify methods of attempts & other data useful in developing focused intervention plans.
