Demonstrated the safety & effectiveness of an outpatient treatment program for suicidal children & adolescents. Pretreatment & posttreatment measures of patient behaviour & family functioning were completed for 47 Ss (aged 7-19 yrs). Follow-up was conducted at 3 & 6 mo & at a point between 12-18 months. All measures indicated significant long-term improvement. Data concerning post-institutional use & suicidal behavior are also presented. (29 refs.)
