This study analyzed the prevalence of Huntington’s disease (HD) in the Rijeka district of Yugoslavia. The authors found 24 people from 10 families in the district had HD. The rate was 4.46 per 100,000. Duration of the disease from initial symptoms to death averaged 10.6 years. It took an average of 5.3 years for a definite diagnosis to be made. Six patients committed suicide. (VM)
