“Broken-Home”-Related Data From Patients Following an Attempted Suicide: Comparison With Data From Psychiatric and Nonpsychiatric Patients (IN: Current Issues of Suicidology, ed. by H J Moller et al)
Riehl T~~Kurz A~~et al
This study compared patients who were admitted for inpatient detoxification, patients who had attempted suicide, other psychiatric inpatients, & a control group of surgical inpatients. The authors found there was not an increase in broken homes in suicide attempt samples compared with either the inpatient psychiatric group or the control samples. Only 2 factors – spending more time with the father than mother & living in a children’s home – were higher when compared to the control group. (VM)
