In this study, patients who were treated for attempted suicide in Leiden in 1983 were interviewed & then followed up 6 months later. As well, in a number of cases, relatives of those who had died were interviewed, & a nonresponse investigation was conducted through the physicians of those who had not been interviewed. From this, the authors created a typology of high & low risk for various groups, such as youngsters living with parents, repeaters who are married, & repeaters who are not married.
