In this study, 581 people who had attempted suicide were investigated 10 years after the attempts. Of this number, 5% had died by suicide, 12% by natural death, 35% had experienced further crises, & 18% had repeated the attempt. The authors found no values which predicted those who completed suicide, but they did find 6 factors which were predictive of future crises, such as whether the suicide attempter was under the influence of alcohol, or whether it was a depressive reaction.
