Addresses the concept of rational suicide (or self deliverence). The researcher feels that suicide in the face of a terminal illness such as AIDS is not rational since these individuals usually are experiencing isolation and lack of medical, material, and social supports. It is suggested that we must change these conditions and thereby make suicide a less appealling alternative.
