This proceeding briefly reports on a study & literature review on the role individuation & attachment in suicidal & nonsuicidal families. The study found that 16.7% of the suicide families had 2 healthy parents, 44.4% had only 1 healthy parent, & 38.9% had 2 pathological parents. Of the control families, 40% had 2 healthy families, 48% had only 1 healthy parents, & only 12% had 2 pathological parents. A case study is described, as well as avenues for therapy. (VM)
