Looks at literature on sex differences in categories of psychopathology, including neuroses, psychosomatic disorders & schizophrenia. Possible explanations for the finding that more females than males have neuroses and psychosomatic conditions are considered in terms of genetic differences, differences in willingness to admit to personal distress & differences in stress. Discusses how males & females differentially exhibit psychopathology in psychopathy, alcoholism, drug addiction & suicide.
