“Adolescent Suicidal and Self-destructive Behavior: Results of an Intervention Study”: Response

This letter to the editor responds to comments made by R. H. Schwartz et al on the present author’s work on adolescent suicide. Deykin & her associates maintain that no controlled studies have been done that delineate specific risk factors for adolescent suicide. They also believe that studies on the association of drug abuse & suicidal behaviour are subject to the same methodological difficulty. (0 refs.)
