This study compared 74 Chinese schizophrenics who committed suicide with 74 age- & sex-matched control subjects. The most important risk factors were last admission for reason(s) other than schizophrenic symptoms alone, dosage of antipsychotic medication & expression of suicidal ideas at the last psychiatric consultation.
