Following ingestion of an unknown quantity of caustic soda in a successful suicide attempt, a case of a 20 year old male is described in whom unusual complications of neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, jaundice with high alkaline phosphatase and acute pericarditis developed. 6 refs.
