This article begins with some alarming statistics: 7,000 teenagers kill themselves annually & 400,000 attempt suicide. Attempters of all ages & classes of society exist. Suicide in the young is often tied to a sense of loss or failure. Some other contributing factors are: lack of parental attention & the pressures of growing up too fast. More pediatricians are being trained to diagnose suicidal behavior in children & states & localities are also getting involved. Some trouble signs are given.
