This article discusses 3 types of family psychological survival patterns: (1) family survival dependent on 1 parent, the other parent consenting (2) survival dependent on 1 parent but with the second parent undermining the first & (3) survival totally threatened & the family disintegrating since neither parent is dependable. The third group shows suicidal symptoms, either verbalized threats or actual suicide attempts. (1 ref)
