Studied the suicides of 114 schizophrenic patients on psychiatric wards of the General Hospital Ochsenzoll in Hamburg, West Germany. The rate of suicides was found to have risen more significantly in the hospital than in the Hamburg population as a whole. The findings indicate that Ss at risk can be distinguished from others by their diagnosis, age, length of hospitalization, relationship problems & the suicide rate of the family of origin.
