Reviews recent advances in the study of adolescent depression, including the areas of diagnosis, symptomatology, epidemiology, comorbidity, personality disturbance, course & outcome, biology & treatment. The topic of suicide & its relationship to depressed mood is also addressed. Clinical & epidemiologic featurs of adolescent depression have been well-defined, though the impact of adolescent depression on adult functioning has yet to be determined.
