This article analyses Sidney’s ÒOld ArcadiaÓ texts for recurrent themes. Suicide is analyzed as one of these themes. The author supplements this analysis with excerpts from this genre of literature. The suicides of literary characters such as Pamela, Basilius & Philanax are discussed. (20 refs) (SC)
