With adolescent suicide increasing, physicians & parents should be aware of behaviors indicating increased risk. Perhaps the most important risk factor is a previous attempt. Adolescent suicide is closely associated with depression or other mental disorders, family dynamics & other personal & sociocultural factors. This article includes case reports & discusses epidemiology, etiology, clinical manifestations, assessment, prevention & has a list of factors that indicate increased risk of suicide.
