The purpose of Project LIFE is to promote suicide awareness & encourages communication of this topic among teens, parents & teachers. In the teen issue of LIFE Garfield (the comic) is used to encourage teens to talk to adults instead of keeping a friend’s “secret.” The parents’ issue guides them through 4 steps to let them be aware of the child’s verbal/nonverbal behavior. The teacher’s issue encourages them to listen, investigate, find out if there is a plan & obtain a student evaluation.
