Not in my School: System Entry Issues – Copycat Suicides a Major Fear

Contagion (copycat suicides) among youth is discussed. Vulnerable youth with serious emotional problems are most susceptible to contagion. Depending on how suicide is treated by the media & others around them, youth can view suicide as appropriate behavior, & a solution to their problems. A highly affective environment with a high emotional content is also a conducive medium for contagion to occur.
