600 school professionals in Pennsylvania were surveyed on their opinions of school-based suicide programs. 99% felt that public schools need to play a role in suicide awareness/prevention & 96% felt their school district was in need of a suicide awareness program. Training that focuses on warning signs was found to be important. Those surveyed felt that professional school staff (e.g. counselors, teachers, nurses) had the highest priority for training. Mariano’s complete paper is also available.
