This article discusses the pressures adolescents face in the context of their families & culture to separate & maintain a separate identity. The author also believes that for individuation to occur, strong relationships must be present. The author concludes that problems with attachment & individuation needs & fears are prominent in adolescents who complete suicide. (VM)
