This article discusses suicide among gifted children & the school’s responsibility to help these children. The authors discusses the reasons why children commit suicide, who is at risk, the role of depression, & the diagnosis of depression. She also outlines the Minneapolis Public School guidelines for suicide prevention & concludes education programs, especially special education programs, can play an important role in prevention. (VM)
