This article debates whether elderly people who are irreversibly ill, & whose lives can only be continued with substantial medical support, should be given treatment. The author discusses factors such as: cost, the justice of limiting care by age if resources are limited, denial of treatment, avoidance of suffering, & the possibility of choice. (VM)
