This article discusses the Public Health Model, which uses all investigations & procedures which reduce disease in communities; there are no fixed models or philosophy. Suicide intervention measures include: crisis intervention centres, better education on suicidal behaviours for caregivers, & psychiatric referral for people who have attempted suicide. The author also discusses the contagion model of intervention, & the psychotherapeutic model of intervention. (VM)
