Role of Modelling in In-patient Suicide: A Lack of Supporting Evidence

An analysis of the temporal distribution of 115 inpatient suicides that occurred in 2 Swiss psychiatric hospitals in the years 1977-1986 failed to reveal any significant clustering of suicides. Thus, the modelling effect does not generally play a decisive role in psychiatric inpatient suicide.
