This chapter discusses the many factors which are part of suicide among the elderly. They include: mental illness, physical illness, depression, isolation, & vulnerability. The authors provide a profile of a typical elderly suicidal person, & discuss the low identification rate of suicidal persons by using predictors of suicide.
