This study questioned Dutch suicide attempters & a control group of psychiatric patients about their experience with treatment in a general hospital, & subsequent mental health care. Patients in both groups were generally satisfied, & the authors attribute this partially to the practice developed by the nursing staff of discussing completed questionnaires with patients. Information about the attitude of patients improves caregivers’ attitudes towards suicide attempters. (VM)
