The issue of suicide is dicussed from the perspective of the physician who may be faced with legal consequences as a result of attempted or completed suicide by a patient. Issues relating to aiding, abetting, or counselling suicide; failing to provide the necessities of life; & removing or not applying life support are addressed. The issue of civil lawsuits brought by the families of suicide victims is also raised. (LH)
