Discusses Davidson et als. matched case-control study evaluating risk factors for teenage suicide during two suicide clusters. Results did not find greater exposure to media accounts of suicide among suicide victims compared to controls nor was direct exposure to suicide necessarily more common among case vs. control subjects. Variables pertaining more often to suicide victims related to previous suicide threats/attempts, hospitalization for mental illness/substance abuse, loss, & violence.
