Discusses a new crisis service that evolved out of the need for postvention in the school following the suicide of a 15 year old girl. Suggests that a successful postvention crisis program requires a timely response by staff experienced in treating these age groups who are familiar with developmental dynamics, grief & loss, & crisis intervention. Supporting client strengths, assessing children at risk, & being available to clients were found to be most beneficial.
