Reviews literature on the parameters of suicide in urban & rural populations, with special reference to Canada, & poses several research proposals. The intervention & research models which emerge from the review are intended for use in constructing intervention & helping modes for different communities thereby assisting individuals & families to understand & cope with the range of problems which underlie suicidal ideas & behaviors.
