Suggests that, in view of the increasing use of carbon monoxide as a suicidal agent, it is important that patients who have been exposed to this gas be considered for hyperbaric oxygen treatment. This reverses the cerebral anoxia which might otherwise be responsible for irreversible cerebral changes.
