Examines the social disruption hypothesis, which predicts a positive relationship between the net migration & suicide rates, using data from nonmetropolitan Texas counties for the last two decades. Results fail to support the hypothesis. There is generally no relationship between net migration & suicide rates in both nonmetroplitan & metropolitan counties. Alternative explanations fail to alter this finding. 35 refs.
