Reports a study designed to confirm the hypothesis that irrational thinking is associated with depression & to explore the notion that persons who are suicidally preoccupied are more likely to hold irrational ideas. While the study confirmed that depression is associated with the tendency to hold irrational ideas, it did not show suicidal people to be more irrational than non-suicidal individuals. Two alternatives are suggested for further research. (7 ref)
