Discusses differentiating factors in elderly depression & the need for appropriate treatment. Presents the results of a retrospective study involving the use of the modified tricyclic compound lofepramine in a series of 210 elderly depressives which indicate that a majority of such patients respond to energetic treatment. 70% of patients showed a response ranging from good to complete remission of symptoms & overall tolerability was excellent.
