Abstract
Using Rational-Emotive Therapy (RET) as Crisis Intervention: a Single Session With a Suicidal Client
Ellis A
Discusses the usefulness of RET in crisis intervention. Techniques include unconditional acceptance of the client, steadfast refusal to feel intimidated by the client’s suicidal leaning, & the active-directive approach of showing suicidal clients how life can be fascinating & challinging. A case example of a successful intervention with a 27-yr-old suicidal female is described. (19 ref)
