A brief article in response to another article, both dealing with self-poisoning. The authors find that benzodiazepine agents are becoming less common as self-poisoning agents, & they, like others, are concerned with the frequency with which antidepressants are taken in overdose. An increase in prescribing tricyclic drugs, which are potentially more dangerous than benzodiazepine agents, is leading to an increase in tricyclic overdoses. (CM)
