The case records of 499 victims of civil & terrorist violence were examined, & the presence or absence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PSTD) & associated features were recorded. The results support the face, & predictive, validities of PSTD. The homogeneity of the emotional state in PSTD was questionable. Only marital disharmony & suicidal behavior were associated complications. PSTD seemed to be found in a wide range of stressors.
