This brief article presents the case of a man who attempted suicide with a large dose of verapamil. He became markedly hypotensive & bradycardic but he responded to calcium chloride, temporary ventricular pacing & inotropic support. The authors believe that this is the first report of verapamil overdosage reported in English literature since the drug’s release in the U.S. in 1982. (CM)
